Whenever you order a beer can in Cambodia, pull back the tab and check what it says underneath. Sometimes you will win USD$1, other times 1000 Riel, other times a free beer. The biggest prizes are motorbikes and cars.
When you win the tabs, take them to a corner shop or non-chain supermarket. Some places accept them, some won't. Street vendors are also more likely to accept them. Some places will charge 500 riel per beer for the winning pull tab, but this depends on the person. Established bars and chain supermarkets are unlikely to accept them.

The crazy thing is that around 50% of the time, you win something. Keep your tabs and you'll have a lot of free beers in Cambodia.

The government did announce a plan to stop the promotions as they can encourage alcoholism, however a year on from the announcement there have been no deadlines announced to stop the promotions.
