The Association in Omo Valley to protect the tribes from exploitation is very active. If you are travelling with any professional camera equipment larger than a GoPro, you will need to pay the photographer fee at every village you go to.
You cannot get around this if you're carrying your Nikon camera for personal photos only. If you're travelling with a camera, you will have to pay the fees.
However, if you've clicked on this page, you're probably a professional photographer who is intentionally coming to practice photography or videography in the Omo Valley.
Bemnet Tours does not charge you extra for the photography package, and the US$100 that you pay will be paid in cash directly to the Assocation at each village. We do need to organise with the villages ahead of time to advise them that a photographer will be coming, so if you're interested in this package let us know if there's any specific requirements you have and how we cann best facilitate your photography trip through the valley!
