Please note, everything in this tour package is fully customisable! Bemnet Tours do NOT offer lock-in group tours - each tour is personalised to you and your travel companions. Our objective is to give you an authentic experience in the Omo Valley, teach you about our culture and history, and to encourage you to teach the world about the beauty of our people. Tell us what you want to do and what your ideal budget is, and we will customise the trip for you. You are welcome to request changes and amendments!
For all Omo Valley Tours, we recommend:
RECOMMENDED: 7-day tour Sufficient time to visit each of the Tribes of the unique Omo Valley.
OPTIMAL: 10-day tour Ideal for any adventurer who would like to have some rest days and travel at a comfortable pace!
BARE MINIMUM: 4-day tour Absolute minimum duration - you will only get to visit a couple of villages and won't have much time to experience the Omo Valley, and we can guarantee you will leave with the need to return. But this is the minimum "taster" amount of time for a time-poor traveller.
For the "Deluxe Experience Tours", you will be staying in the nicest hotels in the Omo Valley. These are beautiful hotels with comfortable mattresses, running warm water, fresh organic food, and stunning views. There are cheaper options within these hotels, such as deluxe camping tents, particularly when we get deeper into the Omo Valley. There are no "5 Star Hilton Hotels" in the Omo Valley because of its remoteness, so do be cautious of other tour providers that may mislead you.
Let us know what your "must-haves" are. Do you want mattresses of a certain quality, do you need hot water, do you have dietary requirements, do you want a deluxe camping tent or do you prefer a sturdy room, do you want a bed with a view? Let us know what is essential to you, and we'll present you with the options for hotels and help you tailor the perfect tour for you.
You will be eating breakfast and dinners at the nicest hotels in the Omo Valley, which offer a great range of organic foods. Each hotel has one or two restaurants attached to it, although the menus often rotate depending on seasonal foods. There are generally a range of local and western food options available as well.
If you are interested, for lunch we would like to take you to some local restaurants - which offer primarily traditional meals, including injera (ethiopian sour bread), tibs (goat meat), shiro (chickpea stew), misir wot (lentils), kik wot (split peas), and cabbage.
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know before you travel so that we can plan and accommodate for you.
Questions that you should ask yourself are:
What does comfort look like to you?
Are you happy being in a 4x4 Landcruiser, or would you rather travel in style in a deluxe Landcruiser V8?
Do you want rooms with a view, or are standard rooms ok?
The hotels we will be taking to you range from deluxe tents to full villas with multiple rooms. What style accommodation do you want?
What kind of cuisine do you enjoy? Are you comfortable eating local Ethiopian food, or eating with your hands? Do you have any dietary requirements, or do you have a sensitive stomach?
If you like to drink alcohol, do you enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day, or is a glass of wine or a cocktail your priority?
How can we ensure that you are comfortable and enjoy your trip? Let us know what your "must-haves" are, so we can tailor the perfect adventure for you!
